History/Back Story      
       Sage was an orphaned at the age of six when her house mysteriously burned to the ground. Her parents had become trapped in their bedroom and perished. Sage was the only survivor and she had been woken up in a strange way. Right as the fire happened all the books on her bookshelf fell off and woke her with a start. Little did she know that is was the help of a friendly ghost pokemon that saved her life. Although she has her suspicions. As the fire began to lick at her bedroom door she clamored out through her ground floor window and made a dash for the front of the house. She watched in horror as her home became engulfed by flames. When officer jenny arrived on the scene later sage overheard her talking about how strange it was that the fire happened. There were no gas leaks or electrical shorts and not even any candles that were burning. The house seemed to just spontaneously burst into flames.
        Little sage ran from the scene crying and brokenhearted. She ran to the pokemon tower even though they said the place was haunted and that it was dangerous. She didn't care if the ghost  pokemon ate her soul, she felt as though her soul had been eaten already. So she shut herself up in the tower weeping and scared, unsure of what to do. A haunter that had been watching the girl from afar (the very same haunter that saved her) floated up to her and placed its ghastly purple clawed hand on her tiny head and rubbed it in a soothing fashion. The haunter was consoling the child. Sage looked up at the ghost with no fear, she then flung her arms around the ghost and wept into its body. The haunter stayed by her side from that day on.
        Sage began to call the haunter Big brother because The Haunter acted as if he were her older brother by taking care of her and providing for her. One day the haunter took little sage now six and a half years old to the pokemon center so she could be properly handled. He knew what was best was that she be raised by humans. A ghost pokemon couldn't raise a human child properly. They stared at the child with a start she had been missing for six months and here she is out of the blue six months later health and happy holding hands with a Haunter. 
        Regardless of how she ended up there they were just happy to have the child back and they sent her immediately to an orphanage because she was unfortunate enough to not have any immediate family (that she knew of anyway. She has more family they just don't come into the story until later.)A few weeks went by and she and her haunter already inseparable met a man who was going to change their lives. A young scientist had been recently widowed when his new bride disappeared one night while she was taking a walk only to be found dead near the pokemon tower a week later, walked into the orphanage looking for a child to ease his pain. Many of the children were sweet and would have been a great pick, but none of them had that certain something he was looking for. Until he laid eyes on Sage and her Haunter. Something was different about these two. Sage and her haunter seemed to be talking to one another, not just the usual poke babble and trainer guessing what it was saying based on its features and the way it was acting talk. But, actual conversations. She seemed able to communicate with her Haunter and that struck the young scientist as oddly charming.
        Quickly making his mind up he walked over to her and placed an arm around her shoulder and asked her what she was doing.
"Im talking to my Big brother."
"Your big brother?"
"Yes. This is Bro he's a Haunter and he's my Big Brother."
"I see. What is he saying?"
"He said that today was the day we were gonna get dopted. He said he felt it in his verbial bones that we was gonna have a family soon."
"And how do you know thats what he said?" He was curious to find out how the girl knew this. Surely she couldn't actually communicate with her pokemon....couldn't she?
"Oh thats easy mister. Because I can talk to pokemon! My mamma gave me this necklace when i was real little and she said that it lets you talk ta pokemon. and ya know what she was right! Cuz i can understand pokemon when i wear this necklace. My mamma said that it was blessed by a legendary pokemon and given to her great great great great grandmother. Then it was passed down through our family and when i turned four my mamma said it was time I had it!"
"So your saying that you can understand pokemon because that necklace? It allows you to talk to them?"
"Yup!"
        The man was struck with curiosity and overtaken with a fond sense of love for this child. He could learn so much about pokemon with her help and he saw in her a spark. A love of all thing pokemon. so he adopted her and made her his daughter. He wanted to know about not only the child's necklace but about the sweet little one herself. Sage grew up in lavender town with her scientist father learning all she could about pokemon and how they lived, acted, among other things. By the time she was nine she found an entirely new species of pokemon (this is my own fakemon that I created in elementary school and have been attached to ever since) called Pachow. Wanting to know more about the species, she captured one and studied it. growing up she learned all she could about her pachow and her ghastly ghost pokemon Haunter. Her favorite pokemon type is obviously ghost, but it dos not overshadow her deep love and reverence for all pokemon that exist.
